I am honoured to be included in the new Twentieth Century Society publication 'My C20 Detail'.

The square-format book, published in December, features contributions from 50 people who were asked to nominate their favourite 20th century design detail.

"What began as a small project on our Instagram account soon became something much more significant," note Twentieth Century Society director Catherine Croft and volunteer Thaddeus Zupančič. The images celebrate the pleasure to be found in looking closely at buildings, an activity that has developed extra resonance during the pandemic lockdowns.

The range of details is breathtaking, from the doors of the Royal Festival Hall to signage at New Delhi station. I selected the sculptural expansion joint of Durham's Kingsgate Bridge, designed by Ove Arup.

The book is available to purchase from the Twentieth Century Society shop and Antenne Books
