Woodland Cemetery, Stockholm

Inspirations

Stockholm Woodland Cemetery was designed by Erik Gunnar Asplund and Sigurd Lewerentz and completed in 1940. This world-renowned fusion of landscape and architecture was chosen by Tony Fretton as his inspiration. "Whenever I am in Stockholm, I revisit the cemetery," he says. "You have to see it many times and in different seasons to be able to understand its different aspects."
