The Economist Plaza

Inspirations

Chosen by Tom Grieve and Hana Loftus of HAT Projects, the Economist Plaza was designed by Alison and Peter Smithson and completed in 1964. Located within the heart of St James's in London, the complex of towers arranged around a raised public plaza "show that you don't have to be fearful when working in such sensitive locations," says Grieve.

"Half a century on, the Economist project still has the power to unsettle," claims Loftus.
