Exploring the Pier Head at Herne Bay, Kent.

The pier was completed in 1899 and was originally 1,154m long. It was destroyed by a storm in 1978 and largely dismantled two years later. Today there remains a landward stub plus a landing stage marooned more than 1km out to sea.
